EYASA 2024 Mandela Month Campaigns

  1. As EYASA NPO registration number 147-647 we have been operating since 2010 but eventually got registered as an NPO in 2014 we have hosted over 10 Mandela Days volunteering 67 Minutes of our time doing charity work in Prisons Chirches Schools and now Rehab Centre.

*This significant idea comes after the former Premier Ms. Refilwe Mtsweni donated x2 combo courts Basketball and Tennis together with MEC of DSD Ms. Lindiwe Ntshalintshali in April we then saw it befitting as an Organization to form a partnership with eMalahleni Local Drug Action Committee and DSD to host a Sports Clinic to workshop our Service Users at Rehab on Tennis, Soccer, Netball, and Aerobics with the belief that sports can unite and forge unity when playing in the field which is what was demonstrated in the field of play yesterday.

  1. We had a brief
*Opening and Welcome by Ms Shungube the Centre Manager
*Purpose of the Day by Mr. Crosswell Libazi from EYASA NPO
*Message of Support by Mr Thomas Yende from DSD
    *Lastly prayer by all
*We were then taken for a warm-up session by an Aerobics Instructor named Mr Keke
*Then Netball was played followed by Soccer Tennis and Volleyball after certificates and medals were handed over the walk didn’t take place due to others delaying due to transport and pickup points.
  2. This event has impacted our Service users receiving help at the rehab their active participation and smiles really showed that they really appreciated the Sports Clinic commemorating Mandela through Sports first annual event unfortunately it was not open to every public for safety and security purposes of the service users.
  3. The Premier and MEC did a sterling job by ensuring the combo courts are built through physical exercise or sports we are healed and able to forgive ourselves and our past traumas. An exercising body has a fertile and positive approach in life.

We chose Netball Soccer and Netball because of the nayure of courts donated to NITC Rehab

It always gives me pleasure to see people gather for a good cause bit mostly seeing lives transformed from worse to better and then outstanding and phenomenal beings change and take their lives back after the devil’s drugs snatched it gives me a peaceful night for the past 21 years clean from Drugs myself.
*It’s very important that we forgive and forget our trespasses and our trespassers as God orders us how to live as one and believers. Yes they have done the worst but the first step to recovery and repentance is to attend and complete all sessions before Rehab admission that alone is a sign of remorse to say I surrender all now our greatest responsibility lies in us accepting and welcoming them back without judgment our future goal is to them a Half way house and Skills development workshop where they will be sent after Rehab to be prepared through life skills and other skills to feed their families.
