Women’s Month Commemoration 2023-08-24

E-Y-A-S-A (Emalahleni Youth Against Substance Abuse) in partnership with its stakeholders will this morning celebrate their Women’s Month Commemoration at Middleburg Female Correctional Centre.

Croswell Libazi, founder of the organization, says the purpose of their visit to the female correctional center is to celebrate women regardless of their past.

Libazi says the visit is a women’s empowerment workshop where expects, like Coach Zelo of Mirror Moments will address the importance of mental health.

Organizations such as Ursula Ntuli Attorneys are part of the organizations that donated sanitary pads for the offenders, and Ursula Ntuli, senior attorney at the organization, will speak about legal issues with the offenders.

Ex-offenders will be talking about their process or journey of reentering society after incarceration, stigma, and conviction after prison.

Sogutjhe Royal House and Mrhetjha Royal House are also supporting the program and they will part of the visit as community leaders from Phola and Hlalanikahle, respectively.
